The American Bar Association designated October 22-28 as Celebrate Pro Bono Week 2017.  We are excited to participate because it gives us an opportunity to thank our pro bono volunteers, as well as raise awareness of Kansas Legal Services and its ongoing effort to provide equal access to the justice system for low income Kansans.

Below are a few events planned for Celebrate Pro Bono Week:

KLS OUTREACH CLINICS
KLS-Topeka:  Law at the Library is Monday, October 23, 2017, 12:30 pm to 4:00 pm at the Shawnee County Public Library, Marvin Auditorium 101 BC.

KLS-Wichita:  A Senior Document Event will will be held at the Kansas Legal Services - Wichita office on November 1st from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm. 

Volunteer attorneys are needed.

KLS-Topeka:  A Call to Service will occur at the Colmery-O'Neil VA Medical Center in Topeka on November 9th. Volunteer attorneys can receive CLE credit for training and work with veterans that day.  Morning and afternoon shifts are still available.

KBA EVENTS
During October, the KBA will collect donations for pro bono programs at Kansas Legal Services. You can show your support by hosting a Jeans for Justice Day or by participating in My Ties & Trivia at the Bar.

Jeans for Justice is a fun event for law firms to encourage employee support of Kansas Legal Services.  In exchange for a donation to Kansas Legal Services, law firms allow their employees a casual dress day.  A law firm can choose any date; make it a part of Celebrate Pro Bono Week 2017, by participating between October 23-28.
